Writer's Corner

I believe strongly in mentoring other writers. I’ve been a professional writer since I was just 17.  I don’t think I would have succeeded without the generosity of other writers and editors who willingly shared tips and advice with me, like “never start a manuscript or article with the word the; it shows a lack of creativity,” and “don’t ever be so attached to your written words that you can’t see what has to be cut; every word is dispensable.”

I have also enjoyed the support of a large circle of writer friends. All this reinforcement has mattered because no one quite gets what you’re experiencing like another writer.  So if you can learn from my experiences, I’m happy to share them with you here.
